Can you tell us more about your service ?
We aim to create a GPS-based social network. Location data offers new possibilities to build new types of relationships between people.Hipoqih is composed of a Web and a plugin for mobile devices. By installing the plugin in a mobile devices with GPS you will be able to share your location in realtime and others can track you on the web with Google Maps or in Google Earth. Sharing your location you create a map with your location that other people can embed in their blogs. Also, you can create geoalerts a receive them in you mobile device. Nowadays, you can share your location in realtime with everybody using hipoqih but in the future you may integrate your location data with other social networks and Web2.0 applications.
We are working in new a lot of new features using location data and We hope to launch them next Christmas.
What is your business model ?
Our bussiness model is based on advertising and premium services. We have three kinds of advertising: advertising for the web, advertising mobile devices, advertising inside the maps. We are sure advertising for advanced mobile devices is an emerging field and we want to join this fact with the location data to provide added value advertising.
What are the projects, additional features you’re preparing ?
In the next versión of hipoqih you may keep track of your steps and integrate this data in other social networks.For example, You will be able to integrate hipoqih in Facebook to share your location in your profile in realtime and we also are integrating hipoqih with Flickr to geolocate photos automatically using your hipoqih tracks. The next versión of the web will be more powerful and more social.
What are the current users’ feedback, your learnings on the service’s usage ?
Very good. There are a lot of users asking us for new features and even asking to contribute.The plugins of hipoqih are Open Source and everyone can see what they do and learn about to do new plugins for mobile devices not supported yet. We learn a lot about the behavior of the users.
