Here are 4 questions to Alex Panelli Ceo Trilibis Mobile :
Your know-how :
Trilibis Mobile is a publisher of interactive network applications for mobile phones. Trilibis’ portfolio includes both original content and third-party titles under license from popular online communities and influential digital media companies. Though Trilibis was originally founded as a publisher of mobile community applications, after facing the challenges posed by mobile data fragmentation, we decided to invest in developing a proprietary publishing technology. Today, with SmartPath, a scalable publishing platform, Trilibis is able to quickly create, broadly deploy, frequently update and easily manage a range of customizable, cross-platform mobile applications. Eleven top North American carriers currently distribute SmartPath-powered applications. In addition to publishing community applications Trilibis develops advanced and highly customizable WAP sites that include polls, blogs, voting, message boards, storefronts, etc. (Wap Rules)
These WAP sites were developed for some of the largest media and entertainment brands including as SonyBMG, NASCAR, NFL, MobiTV, Sprint and AT&T/Cingular.Earlier this year our efforts in the mobile field were recognized by IDC who named us as one of top 10 wireless players to watch.
What is your business model ?
Our business model varies depending on the application and the distribution method. Some services are offered on a monthly subscription basis, others are consumption-based (page views or messages), and some are completely free to end users and are funded through advertisements.
What are the projects, additional features you’re preparing ?
We recently launched MatchMobile in partnership with Match.com. The original launch included availability of a fully integrated mobile dating service in the US, UK and Canada. We will be deploying the service in additional 9 markets (and 9 languages) by the end of the year.
What are the current users’ feedback, your learnings on the service’s usage ?
With mobile dating services (Webdate Mobile, for example), there are a couple things worth noting:
1. Mobile traffic is fairly constant 24/7, indicating that users are browsing through profiles, checking out pictures, and communicating with other members throughout the day – even when they are at work, running errands, waiting for appointments, etc. With online dating the activity is much more skewed towards the evening hours.
2. A sizable portion of our user base prefers accessing dating/personals services only on the mobile, even though they are offered the option of logging-in online using the same username/keyword combination. Based on the feedback that we get, some of the reasons for this mobile-only usage are: Not having access to a PC or only having access to a PC at work; Perceiving that the mobile handset is a more private device than PC, so there is a smaller chance of discovery by friends, co-workers or family members.
