Here are 4 questions to Herbert Bay CEO Kooaba
Can you tell us more about your service?
kooaba is connecting the real world with the virtual world through images. For example, imagine, you walk in the streets and you see a movie poster. You would like to see the movie’s trailer, or reserve the tickets online. Instead of tedious typing on the small keys of your mobile phone, you just snap a picture of the poster and get all needed information within seconds with a single click on the trigger of your mobile phone camera.
What is your business model?
As most traditional search engines, we occupy a similar position in the value chain. Therefore, we pursue a similar business model. Namely, highly-targeted sponsored links and affiliate sales.
What are the projects, additional features you’re preparing?
We are planning to soon add more objects to our database. Currently, we are hyperlinking most official movie posters. As a next step, we will include the most current CD cover artworks. These will be directly hyperlinked to our mobile Internet platform, where users can learn more about their artists, buy the latest songs, etc.The CD module will be followed by other modules.
What are the current users’ feedback, your learnings on the service’s usage?
The user feedback quite is positive. We offer the fastest and easiest way to search the mobile web. The learnings (our current challenges) are that we need to provide the user with valuable information even if no object was found.
