Here are 4 questions to Ivan MacDonald CEO Dial2Do :
Can you tell us more about your service?
Dial2Do is a phone-service for drivers. It lets you get things done safely and conveniently by just using your voice. You can send Text Messages, Send and Listen to Email, Create Reminders, Update your Twitter stream and use a range of other services by just calling a number and saying what you want to do.
What is your business model?
Currently the service is free, we will introduce additional premium services as a paid subscription later.
What are the projects, additional features you’re preparing?
Later this year we will launch our open Platform which will allow 3rd parties to add additional commands to Dial2Do. This will provide a simple way for 3rd party web services to add a hands-free, voice interface.
What are the current users’ feedback, your learnings on the service’s usage?
The main thing with a service like ours is to make it simple for users. Phone services are not like websites. If you make a web site too complicated, users can still probably figure it out by clicking around and exploring. If you over complicate a phone service users just give up. So its better to sacrifice features rather than over-complicate things.
Secondly, use of the service is habit-forming, so once the user starts using it, its likely that they will call it every time they get into their car to do something – making reminders, checking email, updating their twitter, etc..
