Can you tell us more about your service?
Locago is the first open mobile map browser, which allows user generated content. With an open api we invites all users to publish their own geographic points of interest. In addition we display content from highly rated official partners, such as restaurant guides, weather, news and yellow pages. By this open approach we want to catch the long tail of content and provide interesting content to all kind of users. It can be described as a mobile mash-up that using the map as base and adding content layers on top of the map. Demo
What is your business model?
Locago is free to download and the business model is mainly based on advertising and premium services. We also offer Locago as a dynamic platform, which can be hosted and branded.
What are the projects, additional features you’re preparing?
Locago is currently in beta phase and we will make some improvements before releasing the next version. Improvements are for example adding of content layers and support for more devices. The feedback we have received from our first users is very positive; Locago brings something new to the mobile platform! The service is regarded as easy to use but we still need to do some tweaking of the user interface.
What are the current users’ feedback, your learnings on the service’s usage?
