Current status (roadmap, progress, number of users):The project started in January 2007. In March 2007, online services(GPS-Sport.net) have been added.Now we have a four-digit number of (paying) users and the project is growing fast.The market: all Windows Mobile device owners (Smartphone or Pocket PC) who have built-in or external GPS.we have the leading running/cycling GPS software for Windows Mobile and have much more features than our competitors, for instance, Sports.Do.
Can you tell us more about your service ?
We sell Run.GPS software. Using the GPS-Sport.net portal connected to it is free for anybody.
What is your business model ?
Selling software licences and cooperations with hardware vendors.
What are the projects, additional features you’re preparing ?
a French version (work is already in progress), other language
versions.Full integration of online services (we have gone a good part
of that way already: you can have the positions of friends displayed on
the map and you can download routes directly from the device) Many new
features are also planned: integration of Heart Rate Monitors, online
exchange of placemarks …A release for Android is under planning
currently. Actually we have a very complex roadmap because there’s a wide range of ideas in that area.
What are the current users’ feedback, your learnings on the service usage ?
Users acknowledge that we have the first serious software in that market. On some devices we’re facing the well-known problems with connecting GPSes but are compatible with most hardware.
