Question à Bill Geiser, CEO de MetaWatch

Can you tell us about your product Metawatch ?

Meta Watch is a 'smart watch': a programmable watch / display that when connected to a smart phone provides an effortless & elegant way to stay connected when you are truly mobile. Meta Watch also functions as contains both motion and light sensors enabling it to address a number of applications in health, financial, and commercial markets.

What are your news?

Our most recent news is the announcement of our new, Bluetooth 4.0 iOS & Android-compatible development system watches. These products are designed to make it simple and profitable for developers to create new smartwatch applications or to extend the user experience of their existing smartphone applications to the wrist.

Qules are your Services for developers?

What we offer is a full-featured wearable development system. This includes our watches; an array of development tools / IDE's for PC, Linux, and Mac environments; open source firmware, remote protocol and API’s; and access to our supply chain and production infrastructure for ODM/OEM customers who want to get to market fast without having to make a heavy investment in production infrastructure.

How do you see the evolution of personal data ?

We will soon leverage many personal sensors providing lots of valuable information to help us make better decisions regarding our health. To some extent, we've already started down this path. Meta Watch currently supports both a motion sensor and a light sensor and each can be programmed to provide very useful information.

For example, the motion sensor is capable of taking a 'snap shot' of our activity throughout the day. With this information we can easily provide you with a profile showing what percent of each day you are active vs idle. More importantly, we can deliver this in the form of a simple 'widget' on the watch providing you with feedback….before the day ends, so you still have time to 'get up and move'.
