aka-aki brings the web’s social networking functions to real life. as real life is all about encounters, aka-aki’s service is all about the people you meet. aka-aki uses technologies everyone already carries in his pocket. on nine out of ten modern mobile phones aka-aki offers three main features:

take a look at photos, mutual friends and interests and much more – instantly on your phone when someone interesting is around.

diary of encounters
aka-aki saves all your encounters for future reference on the aka-aki website. So you can even make new contacts later on. The aka-aki website becomes your private diary of encounters and you can surf it.

your friends in your pocket
aka-aki helps you to keep in touch with your friends on the go: text messages can be exchanged, no matter whether from the website to the mobile, from the mobile to the web or whatever… and using microblogging you can show your friends what you’re up to right now and see what they’re doing.

What is your business model?
Classic advertising is always an option. Though it is one of the most boring ones. We have a couple of concepts to monetize and are currently researching how the users are using the service to find out wich model could work out.

What are the projects, additional features you’re preparing?
At the moment we are working on internationalization and preparing the launch of an english beta version. Further an iPhone app will be available soon. Also our current Java clients are being developed on and on and new features, espacially for interaction between users, will be built in.

What are the current users’ feedback, your learnings on the service’s usage?
We’ve learned that the users really like to interact with each others on the go. Our microblogging features are being used very intensively.Further we see that there’s still a lot of fear concerning high costs for mobile internet connections in Germany. Transperacy in prices is needed.
